Who is Yoga Vixen
My name is Kristina Morros. I am American and I moved to The Netherlands in 2010 with my daughter to live with my Dutch husband. I am the owner of the Yoga Vixen brand and SUP Vixen SUP School. I am a yoga teacher and a SUP teacher. I have experience teaching different forms of yoga including aerial yoga, hot yoga, hatha yoga, pralaya yoga, and SUP yoga. I also give singing bowl sessions, tuning fork sound healing sessions, and meditations including Yoga Nidra. I offer yoga, singing bowl and tuning fork workshops and private sessions.
During the warmer months, I teach regular SUP lessons, SUP tours, SUP yoga, and SUP fitness which can also be scheduled on a private basis. My teaching schedule and contact information can be found on www.yogavixen.nl .
I began practicing yoga regularly when I was 18 years old in Birmingham, Alabama and Panama City Beach, FL. I followed regular classes at Sportsfirst and The Yoga Circle. The teachers were all high quality teachers and it was here that my love for yoga began growing.
In 2011, I began practicing at Yogasite and Enjoy Sports in Breda. I completed the RYT 200 Hatha yoga teacher training program at Yogasite and the Aerial Yoga teacher training program with Aerial Yoga Nederland. I have given workshops for aerial yoga in Breda, Eindhoven, Birmingham, Alabama, and Panama City, Florida. I have taught yoga weekly at Kickfit in Breda and we have also given yoga and kickboxing workshops together. I have taught aerial yoga at the Yoga Festival Terschelling and Yoga Festival Eindhoven. In the summer of 2017, I also completed a SUP teacher training with Shanda Beste, owner of Inner Chi Wellness, in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and I am a certified by The World Paddle Association.
Next to yoga, I am also a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. I trained in the United States at University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama and I administer anesthesia in different hospitals and clinics throughout The Netherlands. Through my anesthesia training, I have a very good understanding of human anatomy and pathologies.
Yoga and meditation are part of my daily lifestyle and I have personally found that incorporating these into my life has brought me personally more joy, peace, relaxation, balance, and mindful observance in everything that I do. I have experienced that taking time out to be with myself has allowed me to become more in tune with my intuition. I believe in a balanced life: one in which you can live life to the fullest, have fun, and enjoy living and loving all of life’s precious gifts with loving intentions while also having a connection with the universe and your life purpose.
As a yoga and SUP teacher, it is my goal to share my love of yoga, SUP, and meditation with my students and to be available to teach every person who comes into my life about yoga and paddleboarding. It is also important to me to connect with people and help people connect with each other. I hope that everyone who comes into my lessons and workshops and everyone who paddles with me on the water feels at home. My intention is to project a feeling of comfort so that people know ,with me, being themselves is enough. You don’t have to be a certain “type of person” to practice yoga or to paddleboard. Being different is good and in fact is the greatest gift in the world! See you in the studio or on the water!
